LRC/Unite Meeting Saturday April 7th
A meeting of LRC/Unite members is taking place on Saturday 7th April at the Marx Memorial Library, 37a Clerkenwell Green, London EC1R - 0DU between 12pm until 3pm.
The purpose of the meeting was and still is to discuss the work in our trade union to enable us to co ordinate the work of LRC Unite members in both building our union and promoting the ideas of the LRC within the union.
Given the most recent attacks of the establishment on the left of our movement in general and specifically against our union the meeting is potentially far more significant than was first anticipated.
The complaint that our union was involved in irregularities in the general secretary election last year was heard by certification officer last Tuesday. The outcome should be announced next week. If the decision goes against us a 're run of the election could be ordered. It is feasable that the process could be underway just fourteen days after that announcement.
It is therefore possible that collectively we are involved in a campaign straight away.
Whatever the situation by the 7th April we will be far more effective if we work collectively than as isolated individuals.
We would therefore urge that all LRC/Unite members make every effort to attend this meeting.
