Don't miss the LRC conference
LRC conference : Socialism in the time of pandemics
Saturday September 5 12.30pm-4.30pm
If you haven’t signed up for the conference you are not too late to join us for this important event.
After preliminaries, the conference will start with an impressive panel of guests who will outline their vision of what the left’s priorities for campaigning should be over the months ahead.
Our speakers are:
Our President John McDonnell
Nadia Jama and Laura Pidcock – two of the six Grassroots Voice slate candidates for the CLP places on Labour’s NEC
Jo Bird who is standing with Matt White for the two councillors’ places on the NEC,
Roger McKenzie, currently Assistant General Secretary of UNISON, standing now for the General Secretary position
Andrew Scattergood, FBU activist, recently elected co-chair of Momentum
Jeremy Corbyn – who surely needs no introduction but who we are delighted is joining us
After the panel we will take discussion on the statement from the outgoing NEC: Socialism in the time of pandemics and amendments to it.
Later we will take amendments to the LRC Constitution, the election of new NEC and Labour Briefing Editorial Board and Conference resolutions.
Visitors and observers are very welcome to attend, but only members of the LRC and delegates from affiliated organisations will be entitled to submit/amend resolutions and vote at the AGM. So this is a good time to encourage individuals and groups in your network to join the LRC or to find out more about us by attending the AGM as a visitor.
Further information relating to LRC Conference on 5th September is on a special conference page on the LRC website. As this year’s conference is being held via Zoom, the registration fee is £1 and you can pay there.
